Whether you are tired from a long day, feeling sad or are just in the mood to watch a movie, there is nothing better than a feel-good romantic comedy to watch as you unwind from your day. We do not always have the time to watch a three hour movie – so here are some recommendations for your next movie night that will leave all hopeless romantics feeling satisfied.
1. 10 Things I Hate About You
Ten things I hate about you is a classic movie from the 90’s that will forever be timeless. Eldest daughter, Kat Stratford, has never been much of a romantic. She never sought a boyfriend and quite honestly never found every guy in school to be just a little attractive. On the contrary, her younger sister Bianca is desperate for a boyfriend, and vice versa for the boys who are interested in her. The only problem is that in order for Bianca to be allowed a boyfriend, Kat must have had one – this rule legislated by their Dad. This leads to a complicated set up among Kat and a boy named Patrick Verona who follow an “enemies to lovers” plot line. This movie will swoon any girl over and leave you feeling so warm. You can watch 10 Things I hate About You on Disney +, Hulu, or Amazon Prime.
2. 27 Dresses
27 Dresses tells the story of Jane Heigl, who is a consistent bridesmaid and lover of weddings, but has yet to have her own. She admires the writing of Malcolm Doyle (AKA Kevin Doyle) who writes in the commitments section of the paper. In fact, Jane has all of his articles cut out of the paper and saved for herself to look back on – they warm her heart just that much. When her sister gets engaged to her boss, who she has had a longing crush on her entire career, Jane finds herself questioning her constant role as a bridesmaid. However, when the attractive reporter, Kevin Doyle, hears of Jane’s unusual story, he sees this as his ticket off the bridal beat, and hers as well. You can watch 27 Dresses on Disney + and Amazon Prime.
3. Anyone But You
Despite having an amazing first date, Bea and Ben quickly become enemies after miscommunicating their feelings. They are unexpectedly forced to travel to a destination wedding together as Bea’s sister happens to be marrying one of Ben’s close friends. To cover up their appearances, the two pretend to be a couple for the trip and, maybe or maybe not, blossom into something real. You can watch Anyone But You on Netflix, Amazon Prime or Apple TV.
