After 10 years of lawsuits and terminating papers on his wedding day, CM Punk is back. The impossible became possible.
There had been speculations whether or not the controversial wrestler CM Punk would return after rumors got released that he had reportedly left WWE’s rival company, AEW. He was also said to be spotted backstage, talking with co-founder Vince McMahon, and Consecutive Chairman of TKO (Total Knock Out – paired with UFC).
The Run Down
On November 25, 2023, CM Punk made his debut after 10 years of leaving the company in his hometown, Chicago, Illinois.
His return was definitely the biggest in 2023. He had returned right after the men’s traditional five on five match, right before the show had gotten off the air.
The Drama
CM Punk had complications with WWE in the past. One of them was his problem with injuries. WWE had lied to and misdiagnosed CM Punk’s fatal injuries — causing him to almost pass away.
He was also unhappy with the booking schedule. They had overbooked him for shows– he was across the world for half a day and the other he had to fly out to the other side. He said he was burnt out for wrestling, and after trying to communicate with WWE, they had ignored him– and focused on the money and fans.
The Controversy
People either hate him or love him. There’s no in the middle.
People would say that they disliked him after he had left the company. For example, fans have said that it was like he forgot about them; and did not turn back to recognize his fans. He is also known to be more vocal about his opinions. He has this massive ego that can offend a lot of people with his words.
And some people would like him. People would say that they like him simply because they side with him when it came to him leaving the company. He had valuable reasons to leave, and WWE just sending him off on the night of his wedding day really was the cherry on top to fans siding with CM Punk.
