The English Honor Society is an organization that recognizes and promotes academic excellence in the field of English Language Arts. As members of Middletown High School North’s English Honor Society, students have had the opportunity to participate in various activities and events, such as community service projects and literary competitions.

Their biggest project thus far has been organizing and sending birthday boxes to the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation’s patients from Monmouth County. Advisors Mrs. Michelle Goldfarb and Ms. Jacquelyn Mannino, alongside members of the MHSN EHS, have assembled 12 birthday boxes for children of all ages who are celebrating another year of life in their hospital beds. The boxes contain birthday cake mix, icing, candles, paper plates, napkins and an age-appropriate toy.

Their goal is to provide the patients with some happiness and positivity and to let them know that they are not alone in their journey. It is a small but meaningful gesture that can make a big difference in the lives of those who continue to fight each day.
