LOS ANGELES – The 65th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony took place on Sunday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, with some of the biggest names in music vying for recognition in a variety of categories.

The star-studded event, which was held in person with a limited audience, featured performances by some of the industry’s biggest names, including Bad Bunny, Luke Combs, Steve Lacy, Sam Smith, Brandi Carlile, Lizzo, Kim Petras, and Mary J. Blige.

Although Harry Styles won album of the year at the conclusion of the Grammy Awards program on Sunday, Beyoncé still holds the record for most Grammy Awards wins by an individual artist. The Grammys distributed its top prizes to other performers, leaving Beyoncé off stage at the show’s conclusion. Even though she was not there, the superstar was a constant presence. She received her 32nd award and passed the late conductor Georg Solti in the list of all-time winners.

Lizzo won record of the year for “About Damn Time,” delivering a passionate speech that brought many in the audience, including Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Adele, to their feet.

Other winners included Bonnie Rait’s “Just Like That” for song of the year, Samara Joy for best new artist, Taylor Swift’s All Too Well: The Short Film for best music video, Adele’s “Easy on Me” for best pop solo performance, and Kendrick Lamar’s “The Heart Part 5” for best rap performance and best rap song.

The Grammys honored the lives of Loretta Lynn, Migos rapper Takeoff, and Christine McVie during the in memoriam portion, with a number of A-list performers paying tribute to them. Among the heartfelt performances were Kacey Musgraves’ rendition of “Coal Miner’s Daughter” in honor of Lynn; Quavo and the Maverick City Music’s performance of “Without You” in honor of his nephew Takeoff; and Sheryl Crow, Mick Fleetwood, and Bonnie Raitt’s rendition of “Songbird” in honor of McVie.

As always, the Grammys sparked some controversy and conversation, with some fans expressing disappointment that certain artists were snubbed in certain categories. However, the overall night was a celebration of the diverse and innovative music that continues to capture the hearts and ears of people around the world.

The 65th Annual Grammy Awards proved once again to be a night of glamour, excitement, and exceptional music, and left fans looking forward to what the next year of music has in store.
