Criminal Minds Evolution

The latest and final season of ‘Criminal Minds’ has been released and each new episode shines a light on how serial killers can be made. The season follows a single killer throughout and the influence he has on other people.

Never before have the directors done an entire backstory of one killer and shown what brought the individual to this point. The series allows the killer’s struggles and hardships to resonate with the viewer and almost forces you to feel for them.  Some people are brought up learning all the wrong things which causes serious developmental and emotional damage in the long run.

This season saw the return of only a few main characters from the previous seasons, including Emily Prentiss, David Rossi, JJ Jareau, Tara Lewis, Luke Alvez and Penelope Garcia. Even with the Spencer Reid-shaped hole, the show is still spectacular. It shows how much some people will do for attention and acceptance and how far they are willing to go.

With lots of mentions to the recent pandemic, I felt like they tried really hard for this new season to be relatable and realistic. Overall, I feel that this new season is well-crafted and I love the concept.
