Middletown North Receives Numerous Count Basie Award Nominations

On April 27, 2022, the nominations for the Count Basie Awards were announced. Middletown High School North’s productions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and A Chorus Line were up for multiple nominations. North received 12 total nominations, the 5th highest amount out of 22 schools. The nominations North received were as follows:

 

A Midsummer Night’s Dream:

 

  • Featured Ensemble Members: The Fairies (Alana Santiago, Jessica Heitmann, Daniella DeDonno, Vivian Oliver, and Takoda Morgan)

 

  • Best Lead Actor: Samuel Cusson

 

A Chorus Line:

  • Outstanding Musical Production

 

  • Outstanding Choreography: Mrs. Tara Mahoney

 

  • Outstanding Music Direction: Mr. Peter Isherwood

 

  • Outstanding Student/Adult Orchestra:  Mr. David Buckle Jr.

 

  • Outstanding Direction:  Ms. Amanda Faria

 

  • Best Supporting Actress: Jessica Heitmann

 

  • Best Supporting Actor: Daniel Stefanski 

 

  • Best Lead Actor: Samuel Cusson

 

  • Best Lead Actress: Ava Giglia

  • Best Chorus

The cast and crew of both A Chorus Line and A Midsummer Night’s Dream are ecstatic over the nomination. The winners will be revealed on May 25, 2022 at the Count Basie Awards Ceremony. The cast of A Chorus Line will also be performing at this event since they were nominated for Outstanding Musical Production. Tickets are available on the Count Basie website.
