The FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) club of Middletown High School North’s mission is to have family as its main focus and work within our school and community to make the world a better place.

In October, FCCLA and Residents of Arbor Terrace teamed up with Breast Intentions to “Fight Back Against Breast Cancer”. One goal that the FCCLA club is focusing on this year is to lend a helping hand within our community through acts of kindness, such as this one.

In doing this, FCCLA students met with residents to create baskets that will be delivered to women currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer. The Breast Intentions organization will be delivering these baskets full of items such as tea, magazines, fuzzy socks, chapstick, snacks, tissues, candies, and a cup for each patient.

In November, FCCLA and North’s Culinary Arts classes teamed up with Middletown Helps Its Own. In doing so, Mrs. Sandone and Mrs. Hanson’s classes donated over 250 pumpkin breads to those in need within our community for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  FCCLA students then helped to deliver the breads and sort through canned food in preparation for the basket delivery just before Thanksgiving.

FCCLA competes in two state competitions this year against thousands of students from across the state, showcasing their work and dedication to the club.
