This coming Saturday, October 14, Middletown North will once again be hosting the Homecoming Dance through the doors of the Middletown North cafeteria. Tickets are being sold after school the week before the dance for $10 each.

North student’s are adjusting to the early dance, as compared to the prior years when it was held in November. According to cheerleaders, this is due to the change in North’s homecoming game, which is now being held Friday October 13, and the North vs. South Thanksgiving Game will be a separate event.

According to Ms. Ghaffari and representatives from Senior Council, the Homecoming Dance is going to be featuring a new DJ from last year, Blue Diamond. During the Senior Council meeting many students threw out their opinions on the DJ last year, complaining that the music was bad and that the prom music was too fast, with not one slow song for couples.

This year, the group hopes to be able to test this DJ out and to determine whether he is a good fit for prom.

Students had mixed opinions about the dance being in October rather than November. When asked how she felt about the earlier homecoming date, Caroline Fabiano said, “I think it’s okay considering South’s was in September.” Ashley Henar’s opinion, along with many other students’, was “It’s always been a tradition so it’s pretty annoying that it’s moved.”

Despite the conflicting opinions, Middletown North’s Homecoming Dance will be held this coming Saturday, and students will, as always, enjoy the night, hopefully more so than the years before with the new DJ.
