Welcome Back to School MHSN!

Welcome back Middletown North Lions!

As the 2018-19 school year commences, we would like to take this time to make you aware of some of the changes that have taken effect this school year.

As you have all experienced these past few days, the school day is a little different.  The following chart below depicts the new regular school hours, delayed opening hours and early dismissal hours.

Changes have also been made in reference to attendance.  For full year courses, students are allowed eight total absences.  For semester courses, they are now allowed a total of four absences.

There are many new initiatives being put forth by High School North this year.  High School North will be participating in the School Culture Transformation Project with the NJ Department of Education in collaboration with Rutgers University.  The primary goal of this collaboration is to maintain a positive school climate at MHSN.

A Greenhouse and Outdoor Learning Center have been installed in the courtyard.  A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Garden Fair are on the horizon this fall. Be sure to stop by and take a few moments to enjoy the beautiful atmosphere!

For those with creative and technological minds, a Makerspace Studio has been created in Room 1203.  In this studio, students will be using materials and equipment in order to provoke inquiry and design.  Stop by and check it out or reach out to Mrs. Stout for more information.

There are many new and exciting co-curricular opportunities available this year!  Positive Psychology Club, Math National Honor Society and a North/South Volleyball Program are among the many co-curriculars students have the opportunity to be a part of.  Make the most of your four years here at High School North and get involved in as many ways as you can!

From the staff of The Lion’s Roar-Have a great school year!
