Lions Ice Hockey Falls in State Semis

North Nation filled up 2 buses to take the trip to Mennen Arena in Morris Township to watch their Lions take on Ramsey in the NJSIAA Public B Ice Hockey semifinals on March 2nd. This was a matchup of last years Public B championship game, where Middletown North beat the Rams 5-4, capturing their first ever state title. However, this year’s matchup would prove to be much different.

Goaltending ruled the game. North’s Anthony Manfredi and Ramsey’s Tyler Harmon kept the game scoreless heading into the third period. This was until Ramsey’s Garrett Mast was able to get one past Manfredi to give Ramsey a 1-0 lead and that goal was all they needed. The Lions high powered offense was not able to beat Harmon and the Rams goaltender stopped all 23 shots he faced to record the shutout and send Ramsey to their third straight championship game.

The Lions finished the season with a record of 19-3-1.
