It seems odd to be writing this on the very last day of our high school careers. For the past twelve years of our lives we have been enrolled in the Middletown Public School system and today, June 19th, is our very last day.
This also happens to be the very last article we will ever write for The Lion’s Roar. Sitting outside of Mr. Russoniello’s room, it seems surreal to think we will never have administrative access to the website, never post another article, never walk into room 1400, the place we have called home for the past two years, as editors ever again.
We are sure the rest of North’s senior class is feeling the same way. Saying goodbye to those teachers and mentors who have helped so many of us on our way to success can be a hard thing to do. Sometimes we may stutter and accidentally mouth, “I’ll see you next year” to a teacher when in reality we may not see them for a very long time.
Yet this time comes for all those who have passed through these hallways. It seems just like yesterday we were all taking our first steps into this school that seemed so much bigger, so much more confusing than any other place we had seen before in our lives.
Today we will take our final steps out of this building which has not only educated, but has also provided us with life experiences we cannot even consider at this moment. We will always remember the good times, the bad times, the quarterlies, and the block scheduling.
We would like to thank the entire student body for reading and supporting The Lion’s Roar newspaper under our helm for the past two years. It has been an absolute pleasure.
Finally, we would like to thank Mr. Russoniello for teaching, supporting, and most of all, encouraging young reporters to write great stories about great events. Your teaching and guidance as our adviser has made the newspaper what it is today and we cannot thank you enough for it.
We wish everyone the best of luck next year in all of their endeavors and adventures in whatever they may pursue.
Sincerely,
The Lions Roar Co-Editors-In-Chief and Staff
