The varsity girls lacrosse team lost to Freehold Township 16 to 7 while junior varsity lost 9 to 2. Varsity goals were scored by Cali Cook, Tori Lidlow, and Sam Binn. Junior varsity goals were scored by Jill Laskahoe and Daniella Tollevson.
Despite the defeat, the varsity game was an exciting one. Cali Cook scored a goal with just three seconds left until the half game. Tori Lidlow used a complex “trick shot” to score with three seconds until the end of the game. Ally Kirk played as goalie. The game was nonetheless a defeat. Mackenzie Kelly says “The team needs to work on finishing shots and actually scoring.” The team’s current record is 1 win and 9 losses. They hope to finish their season with wins in the last few games.
Junior varsity coach Coach Jackson is disappointed in her team’s passing and catching skills. Team-member Ariana Pitruzzello agrees, adding that she feels the team should work more on its fundamentals. Their record is 2 wins and 8 losses.
