Middletown North fell to Colts Neck on Saturday afternoon but its crowd was out in full force. The away stands were completely filled as parents, students, and faculty alike made their presence felt. Early on the crowd was loud, rambunctious and full of energy to support their boys. A disappointing day on the field was none the less cheered on by about 200 strong supporters.
Many students made the trip to Colts Neck to support their fellow classmates which was not expected due to the turnout last week. One student there, Mike O’ Sullivan, had some very positive words for the crowd on the day. Mr. O’ Sullivan felt there was an excellent blend of parent and student variety at the game. When asked about his expectations he said, “Yes, it was absolutely better than expected.
North came close to its first victory on Saturday in front of a capacity crowd on the grid iron. The program has to be happy with its traveling and spirited crowd, even on a tough day. At this point, it’s only a matter of time before a great crowd sees its first victory.
