One of the most anticipated films of the holiday season, “Concussion”, arrives in theatres on Christmas Day. The film stars Will Smith as Dr. Bennet Omalu and Alec Baldwin as Dr. Julian Bailes. The movie which is based on a true story, follows Omalu’s efforts to publicize CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy), a degenerative brain disease most commonly found in NFL players. The movie also discusses the NFL’s attempts to deny the evidence found by Omalu. In advance of the release, Will Smith has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture-Drama. “Concussion” is expected to be one of the holiday season’s top film.
