The Middletown North boys basketball team opened a new season on Friday, December 18th at home. They welcomed in the Freehold Boro Colonials. The Lions trailed 27-25 at halftime, but were able to comeback and win the game 53-49. North was lead in points by Freshman Rob Higgins who had a double-double, 14 points and 10 rebounds. Junior John Tomasetti had 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Fellow Junior Jon Swift had 9 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore Dave Campbell chipped in 10 points. This balanced team effort lead to a quality A-North division win on opening night.
