This past Tuesday, March 23rd, the Middletown North Girls track team hit the track for their first scrimmage of the season.
The girls ran against Holmdel and Red Bank Regional. The Scrimmage was solely to see how some of the younger girls would do competing in races and then also seeing how a few runners would run in different races.
Sophomore Katie Touhey, who normally runs the 800 meter and the 1600 meter, ran the 400 meters. She ran a respectable 68 second 400 which is great for the start of the season.
The chances of the girls making a run at division championships and sectional championships looks good. With sprinter Kayla Pfleger, hurdlers Jenna Reid and Kerri Powers, javelin thrower Sinead Slade, and distance runners Maddy Maraone and Hanna Lippert the task seems very do able.
